Office hours are Monday to Friday from 11am to 1pm.

Call for enrolment into Master degree programmes is published at the website of University of Ljubljana as well as at the websites of Administrative Office for Master's Programmes (Second - Cycle) at Faculty of Arts.

The enrolment conditions for individual Master study programmes and the criteria for transitions between study programs can be found in the call for enrolment.

You can submit only one application for enrolment to the Faculty of Arts, with a maximum of three wishes. Submit an application for enrolment through the eVŠ portal.

Candidates who have completed, or are about to complete the first-cycle undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Arts undergo the same application procedure as all other candidates. They have to submit the application for enrolment through the eVŠ portal within the deadline set in the Call for enrolment.

Graduates of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana who have had an electronic index, and wish to continue their studies at master studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, do not have to provide the documentation regarding their studies, as the faculty will obtain the data.

Graduates of the Faculty of Arts who did not have an electronic index during their studies however, must enclose to their application a copy of the degree certificate and a copy of the diploma supplement, as well as other possible documentation required by the individual study programme.

  • Candidates for enrolment who have already completed the undergraduate (first-cycle) study enclose with their application a copy of the degree certificate (or a copy of the temporary graduation certificate) and a copy of the diploma supplement if it lists all completed exams (or a copy of the official transcript of records) and other enclosures, if the study programme requires so.
  • Candidates who have not completed their undergraduate (first-cycle) studies by the date of submission of the application, can provide subsequently (and by this complete the eVŠ application later on) a copy of the temporary graduation certificate and a copy of the transcript of records.  

No. Without a certificate of graduation, it is only possible to apply for study. Only candidates who have completed ALL obligations on the undergraduate (first-cycle) study can enrol in Master study (second-cycle) programme – i.e. candidates who upload to eVŠ with their application a scan of their degree certificate or a (temporary) graduation certificate and a transcript of records.

It is possible to submit the application of enrolment (without the certificate of graduation); however, enrolment is only possible if you complete all obligations in the first-cycle studies in the deadlines as set in the call for enrolment.

Yes, you can enrol; however, in this case you have to pay a tuition fee since you have already achieved the level of education corresponding to at least the second-cycle study programme in accordance with the Higher Education Act. Tuition fees for each academic year is published in the price list of the faculty.

Conversions of obligations from pre-Bologna university study programmes, confirmed by the Senate, are published on the website of the faculty.

Candidates who have completed their studies abroad apply the same way as candidates who have completed their studies in Slovenia.

Candidate who has obtained a degree certificate abroad must acquire a decision on the recognition of education obtained abroad for the purpose of continuing studies in order to enroll in a Master's degree programme. The procedure begins with the candidate’s application for study in Slovenia, which is submitted through the eVŠ portal. Instructions are also available on the university website.

No, unless you enrol in part-time study and you are a citizen of non-EU country. The tuition for an individual academic year is published in the price list of the faculty.

Prior to enrolment in the first year, candidates who wish to enrol in the Master's degree programme (second-cycle) of the Faculty of Arts, and completed their undergraduate studies in other professional fields, have to submit the application for determining additional obligations for enrolment (so-called differential exams) to the department implementing the programme.

The following relevant documentation has to be enclosed to the application: 

  • Candidates who already completed their undergraduate studies enclose their degree certificate and a copy of transcript of records;
  • Candidates who have not yet completed their undergraduate studies enclose a copy of all passed exams (students of the Faculty of Arts enclose the certificate printed from the student information system (VIS) and curriculum.

Based on candidate's previous education, the department will decide how many and which differential exams the candidate will have to pass prior to enrolment in a Master's degree programme (second-cycle). Differential exams are payable according to the faculty price list valid for the current academic year.

Candidates will be informed as soon as the selection of candidates will be carried out, presumably after September 20 of the current academic year.

Written notification of the results (due to the protection of personal data, we do not provide information over the phone) will be sent to the address indicated in the application form.

The enrolment of candidates (who meet all the enrolment conditions and are selected in the call for enrolment) takes place through the student information system (VIS), by September 30.

Candidates are sent the following for enrolment to the address indicated in their application form:

  • Password for using the student information system (VIS),
  • Instructions for electronic enrolment,

Candidates will also have to fill in and upload in the VIS the postgraduate Master's degree contract (only those students who should pay tuition fees).

You will receive the invoice for payment of the registration fee (and the invoice for payment of the first instalment of the tuition fee if you need pay it) via email.

A student, who wishes to re-enrol, must report to the office of the department, where they will review the enrolment conditions. If the student meets the conditions for re-enrolment, the secretary of the department opens the enrolment sheet for the current academic year in (VIS) and thus enables re-enrolment in the same year. For students who meet the conditions for enrolment in the higher year of studies, enrolment sheets are automatically opened in the student information system (VIS) - from the end of August onwards. Enrolment sheets will also be opened at the end of August for all students who meet the conditions for enrolment in additional year.

Student must fill in the enrolment sheet for higher/additional year and the contract (only for tuition payers) in the student information system (VIS).

The enrolment will be valid when:

  • you fill in the enrolment sheet in the student information system (VIS),
  • you upload or send the completed and signed contract for postgraduate studies (only for tuition payers)
  • the Administrative Office of Master's Studies completes your enrolment.

You will receive an email when you will be enrolled.

We will send you a student ID card as soon as it is produced (expected in November of the current academic year).


ATTENTION: If the documentation will be incomplete, the actual enrolment in the year will not be possible.

Enrolment of students in master programmes must be completed no later than by September 30.

All information regarding lectures and lecture schedules can be obtained from the department that implements each Master's study programme (Second-Cycle).

If the student is among the 5% of the best students in the generation, he/she can apply for confirmation of the form in the Administrative Office for Master’s Programmes (Second-Cycle) (Room 1) after October 1.
