Introduction to Slovene Art History

History of art history and its institutions (societies, museums, university programmes, heritage preservation) in Slovenia from the beginnings to the time after the Second World War, with special emphasis on the development in the Baroque period and again from the second half of the 19th century onwards. Case studies include several examples of early writings and exemplary personalities of the 20th century, especially in connection with introducing new methodologies (e. g. France Stele). Types of art-historical publications and their authors; state-of-research for various historical periods, including an introduction to basic bibliography.
